On the 27th October 2019, Living Hope Ministries International was launched in the lounge of Neville and Charmaine Murugan's home. The vision is to be a Christ and Gospel centred church, seeing people living healed lives through a community of hope. That is a church which builds on the foundation Christ has laid. They hope to see the lives of their community and beyond envisioned, transformed and living in the plans and purposes of God for them.
The olive branch was included in the logo of the church. The olive tree represents God’s blessing, anointing, provision, illumination and value in our community. The church is called to pour this oil into empty vessels of our community.
On the 2nd February 2020, the church moved into the current site ready to launch and impact their community.
that in the midst of abject poverty the Gospel changed people’s lives in a fundamental and real way. On returning to South Africa they felt God impress upon them and steer them towards the need for a community of faith that will be a force of transformation in the Centurion region.
The story of widow’s oil multiplying in 2Kings 4 spoke to them. They felt that the passage challenges them to pour their oil into many empty jars of the surrounding community. They received a prophecy which saw them bringing health and renewal through the restoration of families combined with the training and releasing the next generation of leaders. They sensed that God wants them to plant a church once again. In praying for the site of a new church, they sensed the plant should be in the Raslouw and Heuwelsig suburbs. It is a newly developed residential area with many medium density complexes and few churches, thus many people in need of a spiritual home. Sensing in God that they need to plant a community of faith that will bring healing and salvation to this community.
On the 27th October 2019, they launched Living Hope Ministries International in the lounge of their home. Neville & Charmaine are so grateful to Jesus for the team with a similar vision, that He has added to them. The team extends their sincere thanks and appreciation to all those who contributed to the success of the church plant to date.
In 2012, Neville and Charmaine Murugan and their two sons moved to Gauteng and joined Grace Covenant Church in Centurion, relating to NCMI.
They served in the children’s ministry faithfully. After a period of time, they led the ministry and later came onto the Deacon Team. They were ordained to Eldership in 2018. They served with a heart for the next generation, building community and taking the Gospel to the nations.
